Have you ever wondered how some people seem to get so much done in a day or in their life, and others do not? It all comes down to focus. I know some would like to think that the more degrees you have, the more successful you'll be. That could not be further from the truth. Life is an equal playing field. It does not matter how many degrees you have or don't have if you have a goal and you focus on it you will make it happen.
The acronym for focus is Follow On Course Until Successful.
Let's go a little bit deeper.
Follow--Who are you following? Are you following people on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and wishing your life was like theirs? Or are you following your own internal guide? Your own intuition? In order for you to follow your own intuition you must learn how to sit still and listen. Your intuition is that really small voice that you hear inside of you, and because it is such a small, quiet voice, the quieter you become the louder that voice becomes. Take some time in the morning every single day to meditate and picture in your mind’s eye the way you want to show up for the rest of that day. After you've done your meditation, get up, take some action and follow in the steps your intuition is guiding you towards. Make that phone call... Take that appointment to see the new house in the neighborhood you want... Go test drive that new car you want... What's your intuition telling you?
Course--What's your course in life? What's your purpose? What is it that you do every single day that lights you up on the inside? Or, what is that thing you wish you were doing every single day that would light you up? Course simply means a direction or route taken. Every single day of your life you are on a course. You are always taking action in a particular direction. If your life is not satisfying to you, if you're not getting the results you want and need, change course onto the path that your intuition is guiding you towards.
Until--Decide this is a new life style. It makes me cringe when someone asks me how long they have to think in a new way, speak their affirmations or do things differently for before they see a change. That tells me that they are just "trying" this out. They have not fully committed. If you have not fully committed to this being a new way of life for you, you may accomplish your goal, but you will soon lose it. When you commit to following your dreams, your dreams have to be maintained. Ultimately this means that you have to take care of yourself and have a healthy self-image. When you love and take care of yourself first, you will learn that this is a lifestyle that you deserve to live. You will want to speak positively about yourself and your life. Decide right now, in this very moment, that you are committed to following and focusing on your dreams! Declare this: I AM SO FOCUSED AND SO CLEAR! Repeat that to yourself every time you begin to feel doubt, uncertainty, fear or confusion creeping in to your mind.
Successful--Define success for yourself. Forget the kind of success society has told you exists and find success by your own definition. You may not want to be a billionaire like Bruno Mars. Success to you may mean a peaceful home with children that listen, love and respect you, and a husband that adores you. Define it for yourself. Set achievable goals every single day that will lead to your big goal. If your plan is to write a book, write the outline for it today. If your plan is to lose some weight, start drinking nothing but water for the next 7 days. If your plan is to get your house in order, start with a dresser drawer today. Get going, start now, start today. Begin to live the focused and successful life that you have defined for yourself and for your family!
