Procrastination is a dream delayer. Millions of people procrastinate every single day on tasks they know they need to get done in order to accomplish their goals. But for many reasons there is a block stopping them from getting from where they are to where they want to be. Have you ever wondered why it is that some people seem to get more accomplished in a month than some people do in a life time?

Many people will say that it is fear that holds people back, and I agree with that, but I also believe people procrastinate because they simply don't believe in themselves. Many people, maybe even you, don't believe that what you are good at, that thing that you LOVE to do, that thing you were born to do, people won't need what you're offering. That could not be further from the truth! You have a divine appointment here on earth and what you've got, we need it, or else you wouldn't have the desire in you. Did you get that? You have a divine appointment here on earth and what you've got, we need it, or else you wouldn't have the desire in you. I want you to get that deep down in your belly. Let that sink into every fiber of your being. You are NEEDED, WANTED and NECESSARY!

What it is that you're procrastinating on? It's not like we don't all have the same 24 hours in a day. So what have you been allowing to be your reason/excuse for not taking action, now?
Here are some of the things that I do to deal with procrastination.

1. Pray (talk to God) & Meditation (hearing from God)
Before you get up out of your bed to start your busy day, take a few moments to lie there fully awake and give thanks to God. This is your time to talk to God before you talk to anyone else. Tell God your concerns for the day, and ask for His wisdom and guidance. After you're done praying to God, don't be so fast to get up, as He may have something He wants to share with you. How long should you meditate for? Until your spirit is full. Just like when you're sitting down to eat your meals you know when your belly is full and you stop eating. The same is true during meditation. Don't get so caught up in how long you meditate and pray...you'll know when your spirit is well fed.

2. Write a daily to-do list. Have you ever gotten to the end of a busy day and said to yourself, "What did I do today?". Well, with a daily to-do list you will always know where your hours have gone. They will be documented. This is such a POWERFUL habit to incorporate into your life! Prioritize the things you really need to do and get those things done first. I always do the  not so fun things first on my to-do list so I can look forward to the fun stuff! You will enjoy getting to the end of your day and seeing all that you were able to accomplish. Studies show that only 3 people out of 100 write down daily goals. That could explain why an astounding 3% of the population own most of the wealth. They are diligent and focused. When you write your goals down daily, your day has direction, focus and clarity.

3. Let someone know what you're up to. Who knows your goals? Do you have a coach, mentor, or are you a part of a mastermind group of other people that are living their lives with purpose and holding each other accountable to their goals? If no one knows what you're up to it can be too easy to allow your ambitions and goals to fall right under the radar and not get done. Get yourself an accountability partner.

4. Lastly, why are you doing what you're doing anyway? What is your driving force? What is the reason for what you do? Knowing why you do what you do is what's going to keep you motivated on those days where you just don't feel up to par. For me, it is my mission statement- remembering why I am doing what I have been called to do is a very important factor in ending procrastination forever. I am here to help other people find their purpose and encourage them to build their lives around what they have been called to do! That's what wakes me up in the morning. That's why it's 6:21- am right now and I'm sitting on the edge of my bed typing this blog. What is your reason? What is your mission statement for your life? If you don't have one or haven't written it down, do so, and hang it somewhere you'll see it every day!

Get to the bottom of your procrastination. Is it fear or do you not believe in yourself? Whatever your reason, figure it out and deal with it...the world is LITERALLY waiting for you!
