If you are the go-to girl in your group, you probably have these 3 characteristics and don't realize it. You probably don't realize it because they come so easy to you. They are the most powerful characteristics of a life coach.
1. You pretty much have your ish together. You're not perfect by any means, however you are a highly motivated person. You're not afraid to take risks not afraid of failure and you absolutely LOVE helping other people do the same. You create written goals and you stick to them. You probably have a work out regimen and you only surround yourself with people who have goals and a sense of purpose in their own life. You invest in yourself often. You visit the doctors for your yearly check up and you keep track of your credit and finances. You love to keep your home clean and free of clutter. And you also tend to have a positive attitude no matter what you are going through. People respect you, look up to you, and love you. 2. You are a good listener. In the coaching field this is called 'active listening'. One of the most valuable things you can be as a life coach is a good listener. Most people do not have the ability to listen to someone else talk for long periods of time about themselves. In a coach-coachee relationship, the coachee is the one that all the focus is on, and so they are the one that should be doing most of the talking. It can often be challenging for people to speak their truth, but people talk to you because you are a good listener. 3. You are not too afraid or timid to ask hard questions. If people want warm and fuzzy advice they don't come to you. They know you are going to ask them the hard questions to make them think. When they think through your questions they gain clarity and a different perspective on their situation. And they often end the conversation by saying, "Thank you so much for listening!" 3 Ways to Make Your First $1,000 Selling Yourself
Nooo... not selling yourself like that. :) Selling your knowledge. Your Expertise. Many people dream of earning 6, 7, 8+ figures a year doing what they love. However, what I have found is that most people say they want it but they don't really see themselves having it, simply because it's such a big stretch from where they are now. It's not that they don't believe it's possible, they just don't believe it's possible for them. You can log on to any of your social media sites and it won't be long before you see an advertisement from someone promoting how they can teach you to build a 6-figure business doing what you love, yet you're barely putting gas in your car right now.... That can be a little intimidating, and a lot to wrap your mind around. Before my family earned six figures we had to believe that it was even possible for us. Earning six figures a year can be intimidating to some people. I know it was for me... I remember the first time I paid cash for my food at the grocery store without using food stamps. My entire body was shaking because I was so nervous. I was totally outside of my comfort zone, creating a new life for myself and my family. I didn't start paying for my own food and housing until I was around 23 years old. I don't know what your relationship is with money, but if it's not healthy, you need to work on that first. This is because it doesn't matter what you read - books, classes, workshops, or even this blog - you can get all the "how to" information you like, though you still won't put it to use if you don't believe you can achieve it. My intention for writing this blog is for you to envision yourself earning a living doing what you love. What do you love to talk about? What do people come to you for the most? What do you find yourself looking up on Google or YouTube most frequently? In which area of your life have you achieved success and want to share that process with others by selling your knowledge and expertise? Now, before you start telling me how you're not an "expert", please stop talking and listen... when you go into bookstores you thumb through the self-help section, you envision writing books and speaking to help others with your story. You just have a passion to help others succeed. That is your "expert" status - your passion and your results. So stop with the negative self-talk. That's soooo 2016! In order for this to work for you, you must already have an audience to sell to. The best way to build an audience is to use your social media platforms, network at live events, your email list, videos, blogs, etc. So, assuming you have an audience, let's get to the $1,000! 1. Have a VIP day. A VIP day can start at $1,000 and you would only need one person to purchase that and you've met your goal. 2. Teach a workshop. You can do this in person or you can do it virtually. What do you know that is extremely valuable to your audience? What are their biggest problems that you can solve for them? Charge $500 per participant. You've met your goal. 3. Teach a lower tiered class. You can teach a class for $250 and have 4 people sign up and you've met your goal again! Do you see in this example how to accomplish your goal of making your first $1,000? Do you also see that you don't need to sell 300 products to meet that goal? You can play around with the numbers and services/products you can sell to meet and fit your own business model. So, now that you know how to make your first $1,000 selling yourself, you have the formula to make as many thousands as you'd like! What is one thing you can take away from this blog to help you sell yourself? |
